Enhancing Belonging Guidebook Launch
New Story Group Launches Enhancing Belonging Guidebook
The journey of the Enhancing Belonging project has been one of evolution and change. With beginnings in conversations where community members and organisations shared what it means to belong, to research, followed by focus groups and now to this guidebook. This guidebook will change how Waterloo Region views belonging and the necessity that more and more organizations begin to adopt strategies to ensure all those connected to them (whether staff or those they support) feel a sense of inclusion and belonging.
Our very own John Lord wrote a piece for the Waterloo Region Record (found here). He outlines how “Genuine belonging and sense of community also breaks down the “us and them” that can be prevalent in communities”.
This article is in anticipation of the launch scheduled for November 15th, 2017 at Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region (91 Moore Ave., Kitchener). Friends of the New Story Group are invited to get a sneek peek at the Guide and hear more about how they can bring this work into their work places and into our communities as a whole.
Please join us from 4:00pm – 5:30pm, light refreshments provided.
